BACHanalia 2025

  • Christ Church Cathedral 900 Broadway Nashville, TN, 37203 United States (map)

BACHanalia, a celebration of the music of J.S. Bach, comes to Christ Church Cathedral on the corner of 9th and Broadway on March 28 with continuous performances from 4:00 - 10:00 p.m. BACHanalia is a free, 6-hour mini-marathon featuring over 100 professional and amateur musicians from the community. Bach’s music is presented in expected and unexpected ways ranging from authentic Baroque practice to ensembles and styles Bach never knew of. He would have loved the accordion, the saxophone and jazz bands!

Many friends will return this year, among them Blair Professor of Composition Michael Rose, the Saxophone Quartet, Sam Levine’s Jazz Combo, Parthenon Chamber Orchestra, Music City Baroque and Jared Hauser, while new artists will join the line-up: Karen Krieger on accordion, pianists Mark Wait & Amy Dorfman, the Nashville Chamber Music Society, Vocal Arts Nashville and the Blair Big Band under Ryan Middaugh.

As usual, light refreshment and souvenirs will be on sale. Come and go for part of the evening or all six hours!
